Hip-hop singer Egor Kreed canceled his concert in Makhachkala after threats from Dagestani religious activists. A world-famous Dagestani fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov supported the anonymous activists. Egor Kreed's producer Timur Yunusov (AKA rap artist Timati) stood up for the singer. Nurmagomedov tried to insult Kreed and Timati, suggesting their homosexual orientation. The scandal in social networks had gone so far that Ramzan Kadyrov couldn't stay away. The head of Chechnya supported his friend Timati. This case is certainly not about sexual orientation. Neither it is all about Dagestan or Islam. In this conflict, the boundary between the religious and secular is determined in Russia. And in this conflict, Ramzan Kadyrov sided with the the musicians, whom Nurmagomedov labeled as gays.
